A Prayer for God Inspired Success

Updated: Jul 15, 2021

Almighty God, creator of heaven and earth, I lift my soul in humble adoration and praise to you. I know that every good and perfect gift comes from you, so I ask you for success today. Your word promises, “commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans” (Proverbs 16:3).

Lord God, you know that it is my heart’s desire and soul’s commitment to apply the skills, experiences, exposure, passion, and power you have instilled in me to achieve true justice with peace and equity for all people. Still, there are times when my impact seems an insignificant drop in a vast ocean of discord, natural disasters, neglect of vulnerable citizens, and racial animosity. I fear America is headed in the direction of many great nations of the past, defeated, not by more powerful armies, but by arrogantly thumbing their noses at God’s standard of justice and righteousness. Then, I am quickly encouraged by your words to the prophet Isaiah, "You are my servant . . . do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand" (Isaiah 41:9,10).

Thank you, God, that my success comes from you alone to use everything you have placed in my power to be light in darkness. Thank you, Lord, for those you have put in my path to co-labor on this journey of hope and healing in our land. And, thank you, that the battle for good over evil, right over might, and equity over inequality is yours, not mine, and you never lose a battle. In your mighty and matchless name, I pray, Lord Jesus, Amen!
